Electric

This is the album cover for a single called Electric by Alina Baraz. This cover is interesting because it uses both serif and sans serif fonts, as well as playing with the composition of the text.
This album cover has always been very eye catching to me because of the colours, contrast and the multiple type faces. I find the text on this album cover to be very effective as it leads your eye across and around the page due to the vertical, horizontal and diagonal text. The font used for the word "electric" initially captures my attention due to it's placement on the page but also because of the striking blue on black and blue on red combinations. The arists and the feature artist on this song are written in the top left hand corner, and almost goes unnoticed. The lyrics featured in the bottom right hand corner are almost camouflaged as well due to the font and the font size used. I enjoy this strategy because one could notice something new every time they see the cover art. This cover reminds me of the importance of text placement but also to experiment with the composition of my text. It also reminds me of the importance of colour choices and how it can impact the fonts visibility.
