Encyclopaedic Carrousel of the Great Truth of Modern Life

What has drawn me the most from this trip to the BanQ Archives was this particular book. It is called Encyclopaedic Carrousel of the Great Truths of Modern Life. It is a collection of sayings that people tend to say in daily life.

The typeface used for this book is a sans-serif type that looks like it could be Calibri.

Despite being a book, it is definitely not a typical book. Each "page" is a small card with the text written on acetate used on projectors. It is interesting because the reader could read these quotes either directly from the card itself or could project it onto a surface to read it, which can enhance one's reading experience. While the typeface used is simple and minimal, I find that this is exactly what makes reading these passages entertaining because it allows the reader to have their own interpretation of the story behind the text.

Observing this book, and even the other books at the BanQ, made me realize that a book does not have to conform to a single form to actually be a book. In this case, the format of this book certainly tells many stories even though it is not through the form of a book in which we flip pages to read the text. In my following projects, I will keep in mind that there are many ways and formats to convey a message, and that it can have a bigger impact when the format is different from the norm, or even outside of the box.
