The image above is the iconic promotional poster for the teen comedy movie "Mean Girls" that came out in 2004.
The typeface used in this poster is Futura, which is a geometric sans serif typeface. In this poster, bolder words are set in Futura ExtraBlack, and the lighter ones are in Futura book.
I find this poster quite peculiar as compared to other movie posters that generally have the text horizontal on the poster. The fact that the title of this movie is vertical and in such a big font size gives it a striking effect while also creating this clear distinction between the protagonist and the "mean girls". Moreover, the colours, size and bolding of the various texts all give the poster structure and defines a clear hierarchy of information. The placement of the caption "watch your back" gives the composition depth. Otherwise the three girls behind the protagonist would look like they would be floating on the poster.
What I've learned from observing this image was that the placement of the text can allow to give structure and accentuate the images in the composition, making it more fun and dynamic.
