I AM HER TRIBE

                   

The book I am Her Tribe written Danielle Doby, published by Andrews McMeel Publishing and the cover was designed by Chelsea Leifken is a poetry book consisting of a collection of her Instagram stories and drawings. This book promotes positivity and empowerment through her poems. 

The book cover is completely white, with the words I AM HER TRIBE repeated 7 times (written in white gloss). The fourth time, the title is in a bolder gloss. On the spin of the book, we see the authors last name and book title written in black. And lastly, the back is also completely white with the poem "for her, with her because I am her and so are you" written in black. On the bottom left there is the publishing information and bottom right is the barcode. The font used on the front and spin is a capitalized sans serif geometric font. The font used on the back is a humanist serif font, the last sentence written in italics. The entire book cover is very minimalist which I find works well with the content in the book and compliments it well. 

This book will influence my work because I am a big fan of minimal design. I find a well done minimal design more impressive than something too extravagant. My book covers definitely follow the theme of minimalism, therefore I will keep it as inspiration.
