Eska
The typeface used for the Eska typeface is Anarcharsis Unicase which has a slight serif. An interesting feature on this typeface is that despite the letters being in lower case, the “k” is capitalized yet still the same size as the other 3 letters.
This is a water bottle and is targeted to people who buy bottled water and for those who prefer natural spring water that is locally sourced. The overall design instills a very “cold” and almost “wintery” look hence implying the cold type that is being suggested.
The font and layout both enhances the communication message because of the cold blue that is being used for “Eska”. The font that is being used appears to be very piercing and frigid which mimics the cold outside. The word “Eska” is also surrounded by images that are associated to the cold for example, snow, ice, trees covered in snow and even a snowflake. I believe these choices help encourage consumers to buy this product since fresh and cold water is preferable.
This example of cold type will influence my own creative work when I want to encourage and instil a message through my work. Fonts instil a specific mood in work and I believe it helps for an effective and successful piece.
