Sushi Made Simple
Atsuko Ikeda
The book was designed and published by Ryland Peters & Small. It features a wide variety of sushi rolls, and goes into detail about the history, ingredients and directions for prep.
The spreads in this book are divided by a photo of the final product and the ingredients and directions for the sushi. There is four columns used in their grid system, and the rows are alternated depending on the demand of the directions and other photos if necessary.

What I personally enjoyed about this grid system is its compartmentalized features, which mimics the very methodical and organized process involved in making sushi. This spread in particular caught my eye because of its visually pleasing combination with the photography, which also seems to be on a grid of sorts. I really appreciate the detail in the combination of text and photos in this book and will definitely draw inspiration from it for future projects.
