Golden Cactus Honey Powder

This bag of "Golden Cactus Honey Powder" confused me so much at the dollar store the other day. It might just be me that doesn't know but this is my experience.

First off I couldn't tell if this was an edible product OR a fertilizer for plants based on the font itself. Is it maybe for cacty? given the graphics, I was puzzled. This packaging definitely holds your attention from not just the attraction of colors but the font especially. Circular, big, bold and colorful.

Now usually, if you are selling some sort of fertilizer, the bag will be bright and catchy for the clients to grasp on (yellow/green/blue). The company will be serving an organic visual, typically with plant images.

Given my first impression of the font, I was intrigued by what was inside. However, once I turned it around and saw ingredients listed, it was indeed an edible product and not for your plants. Dummy me. Although, the font could of used less of an ''outdoor'' ''plant based'' feel to it. Including this resealable plastic bag.

It was not just the packaging that was contradicting but also the layout which is so questionable to the consumer. I could not have been the first to walk by with a huge question mark on my face.  Even the placement of the company's logo ''Hibee'' makes me want to think this is not food.

Something they could have done is maybe display a coffee cup or a informative blurb on the front, explaining how this is a natural sweetener and may be substituted for sugar.
