- Classification: perhaps Decorative, Geometric or Display type?
- This is a logo used in the context of a shopfront. The audience is me, passersby, potential customers. The logo is part of the shop's branding. Its appearance dictates a message which influences its popularity and possibly its lifespan.
- The font choice & layout is questionable. I never truly knew what it was called until I went inside (may have been a tactic of theirs?👅) It's poorly designed because of the illegible "font" -- using icons like a banana with letters made it confusing. Is it "bananana"? Also the repetition of letters makes it harder to grasp as it's difficult to differentiate the syllables.
- I think there is a time and place for hard-to-read design (when it's conceptual) but in the case of a logo for a shop, I would strive for legibility, clarity and simplicity. Additionally, the font choice doesn't help (too curvy for the choice of letters in my opinion).
In case you were like me and had a major brain fart trying to read this, the name is hanana.
