This is a paperback fiction novel that is meant for a casual read, where the font is small and the page has a high line count. I was not a fan of the book but always kept it because of its layout and the edge of the pages are dyed blue so that when the novel is closed, which is beautiful.
The first page is the beginning of the chapter and there is an indent of 17picas and the number of the chapter in 30pt. This page has a smaller textblock and emphasizes the new chapter through exaggerated blank space before the text begins. The second page is more full with a smaller head margin of 3p6. The page is separated by thirds to insert a referential prose that has a 4p indent and is 4p in width. This gives space to the denser textblocks that are above and below the prose, offering a different pace for the reader. The page numbers are at the top inside margins which is strange.
I really love the layout of this novel because of its simplicity, while incorporating prose and quotes though isolating them with more exaggerated indents. I love the small size of the book and font and will try to replicate this for assignment 1.
