The typeface used seems to be a serif that is very similar to Times New Romans, a quite common font used for literature.

Birdie was originally published on May 26, 2015 and is written by Tracey Lindberg. The audience of this book would in general would range from young adults to adults as well as those interested in learning more about Cree traditions.

The simplicity of the font, just like in any literature font, makes the readers focus more directly on the text and what the meaning behind the writing is. Because the typeface used is a very common one, the readers would not ask themselves which one was used as they are already use to seeing similar fonts in literature books. In this book, a 10 point font is used with 29 lines of type per page; this helps in making it easier for the audience to read as the text is not too heavy on the eyes. The margins also appear to be just the right size as it, in a way, seems to centralize the text with enough room to breathe, the margins ensure that there is not an overwhelming amount of text.

I find the use of the font size and margins very interesting and will test out this method when making my booklet. The use of larger fonts and wider margins I think is a smart way of making a text flow nicely for the readers.
