Bad Typography

This childrens story that I found in my book library, titled "Dork Diaries" tells the story of a teenager  and his adventures. I found that it was a good example for "bad" typography because of the way it constantly shifts typefaces, and more specifically the strange and abbrupt changes in size and leading.
The use of handwritten text is also quite distracting from the story and is probably quite difficult for a child or even an adult to decipher. However I can understand that these choices were made intentionally for a stylistic purpose and perhaps some of the choices are understandable considering the market. So I think this lack of consistency and organization (this also applies to the illustrations and their placement) would be considered bad for most typographic projects and stories but there is always a reason for selecting a way to display your text.
